iSportsman Celebrates National Hunting and Fishing Day

National Hunting and Fishing Day was first proclaimed by President Richard Nixon on May 2, 1972 where he “urged all citizens to join with outdoor sportsman in the wise use of our natural resources and insuring their proper management for the benefit of future generations”. Our most recent numbers show that there are more than 14.4 million hunter and 57.7 anglers in the U.S. today each of which has contributed to the sustainment of these great sports.

iSportsman is dedicated to preserving and expanding the opportunities that sportsmen and women have across the U.S.

iSportsman President/CEO Aneil Kumar presenting at the Recreation & Innovation Summit 2025

This year…

iSportsman attended the Land Trust Alliance annual conference, Rally 2025 and the first ever Technology and Innovation Summit for Outdoor Recreation hosted by the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable.

  • At Rally 2025: iSportsman made advances to open more land around military bases to hunting and fishing by opening partnerships with land conservation groups who work to set aside these properties.

  • At the Recreation & Innovation Summit: iSportsman identified paths to collaborate with Recreation.gov and onX to bring technology solutions together and better serve the outdoor community by expanding hunting and fishing opportunities across the U.S.
